New Style Mug in White Shino

$49.00

I’ve got a new mug shape. Six panels instead, with a wide mouth for easy washing. The old style mug, tall and slender, squared and then spun back into round, went out to Anthropologie stores from LA to London. It was the beer that made Milwaukee famous, almost singlehandedly allowing me to keep making pottery for years after the gig ran out. But the more you make, the more you want to try something new, and this new design I think builds on the strength of the old, with lots of vertical lines to catch the glaze. This glaze must now bid a sad farewell, because it depends for its consistency on Spodumene, a lithium feldspar mined in western Australia. There is this man who wants all the world’s lithium resources to make batteries for electric cars, and I am in farcical competition with him. I have enough left for two more buckets of glaze and that’s it.
