Teapot #1

$250.00

A teapot is the hardest thing. There’s four parts and they’ve all got to work together in harmony. The handle has to hold up the pot for pouring and the spout has to be tapered for a good stream and the lid has to fit so it won’t fall out when the pot is tipped; also it helps to make the body as light as possible. I’ve been making them for 20 years and they’re only just starting to please me. These are stoneware, with a slip according to the venerable recipe of Jack Troy, and they were up on the top shelf at the front of the anagama. Seven inches tall.
